Woman and Taco Bell
Random moments thoughts!
I still think life is amazing today we went to Taco bell for lunch and I was wearing my “relay for life” t-shirt and this lady asked where I do mine at and I told her Kent and she does the one in Renton. There was something intriguing about this woman the minute she stopped me to talk. I sat in my chair and pleasantly had a conversation with her. She had long a little thin black hair with some grey. Thinking may be she is in her 40’ s or so. She had these eyes that’s color was just amazing and I decided that she had green or perhaps brown eyes and Purple contacts. I couldn’t help but find myself locked in her eyes as we spoke. She cont. to talk and we talked about how great relay for life is and what a great cause and compared our event to hers. Then BAM just like that she tells me that she is a survivor herself ……..Now to me a survivor is a survivor doesn’t matter what it is right??…. I was thinking breast cancer or like……no she is not a once survivor but a twice survivor and I think we can consider her a three time…… All started 10 yrs. Ago when she had a headache for 8 mo. She went to Madigan Army hospital several times and they did nothing. Finally she was traveling to see family and on her trip she started having seizures. She was in Minneapolis for I want to say she said 5 days. There is where she got I would assume the most shocking news of her life and that is that she had brain cancer. I don’t know all the details but then again I think 5 yrs 3 mo later she had it again this time wrapped all on the left side of her brain……..She again is a survivor……Praise God…you cant help but wonder what the odds are and how this works. Well then 3 mo ago they found two new tumors she said all they did was 25 min of radiation and so far so good on this one. I asked if she was considered in remission and she said she considers herself there but she is not sure if she is to say 3 yrs or 3 mo…….I did make small talk with her and said the she must have incredible strength and faith. I never brought up God however I cant imagine this glorious woman not having God in her life. (you know it makes me think of the song “where does my strength come from? Comes from the lord maker of heaven and earth!”) She said yes to that but wow I am not sure if I didn’t have God in my life and new it was in His hands what I would do. I did not exchange names with this woman although we shared some very intimate moments in Taco Bell out of all places. One thing I do know is I will never forget her and hope we meet again. I can not wait to see what God has in store for her and I think she has an absolute solidarity about her and a story that is definitely worth sharing. I will pray for this no name purple eyed woman for a while and pray we meet again!
