Boise Trip
Whew let me start off by this plane ride is BUMPY!!! ewwwww……….
well the weekend went good. Happy Halloween everyone. Brandon is doing very good and seems to be a little homesick. We had a great visit. Friday when we got there is was lunch time so he ate lunch and then we went to out first family counseling session. It went very well. The boys all had a service project to go do in town. So we went to a mans house that had lots of wood to put up against the house. we went back and spent the evening with Brandon in the boys dorm. Sat also went well and because it is the day of the Sabbath we had church and worship and then lunch then mostly free time. Spent a lot of time in the dorm ….played some football…sat on the porch swing. The it was PE time. Very much a learning experience for the boys. They have to play with integrity and if integrity gets lost then they stop and do something not so fun. We played for 2 hrs, dodge ball, medic, and another really fun game. Some of the boys showed me no mercy at all. We had a blast. We jumped right in like we belonged. Then it was supper time. We had supper and then free time again. Mike and Brandon played chess and I just enjoyed my time reading, and watching all the boys around me. What a neat bunch of boys. We did worship time with them both Friday and Saturday night. Last night was compliment night and it went really good. All in all we said goodnight to Brandon at 830 last night. We got up super early this morning and left. We did get to say goodbye and that was really hard again this time. I was sad that Brandon cried and I am in tears as I write this but on the upside I am glad that he showed emotion. When we first took him to Patch he didn't show emotion at all. Well I guess this should sum it up. Brandon is doing good. Like I said before home sick but all in all I am very proud of him. He has made some progress and still has lots to do. We are now almost 6 weeks into it which means we have 45 weeks to go. I cant complain and we just need to pray that God has his hand on Brandon which I know He does. He should hopefully get his first home leave around Christmas and then we go back In Jan and March. Well my lap top battery needs recharged and the plane shall soon land…..This plane ride is definitely a bumpy one. But off in the distance I see our beautiful Mt. Rainier!! Let this also be known that I have decided I no longer can fly with my husband! He is way to nervous for me. He will drive and I will fly from now on…:-)
Happy Halloween again to all from my home to yours. I hope you all have a great and safe night trick or treating!

Becca--As I read this I'm thinking "she is a woman of great strength". To love your son enough to do this for him is something that I belive demonstrates that depth of your love. I love how you got all of those special moments with him, along with being able to observe all of the boys at camp. I'm glad you got to spend time praising and worshipping our King -- what a release, a blessing, that must have been! I'm also glad that you saw a different side of your son. The verse that came to mind as I was reading your blog was "when I am weak, HE is strong." That's what's happening here Becca, it is HIS strength that will sustain you. It is HIS strength that will sustain your son. I look forward to hearing/reading more about how God is moving and grooving in the life of your son & yours as well. Love ya girlie!
