A Trip to Urgent Care

  Thought I had seen it all. Well at least at the UC I thought I had. So it is Tuesday night and we have just got back from picking up our car. I was sick of Tyler being sick. About a month ago Mike took Tyler to the Dr. and she said he just had a cold. Well Mike just said okay and we went on. Tyler has had a cold for months. He complained of a headache a few nights before this and was always complaining of being hot. On a split decision I told Tyler lets go. He was all about not going for sure. We get to UC and there are just a couple people there. This is where the “movie” I thought I was in started playing out. There was a young man was checking in and he had quite the cut. Then in walks a woman and a 1 yr old. She looks as though she is dying and said she had passed out and the pain is horrible. He neighbor brought her in. Then in walks another man. and another, and some more. One was a little boy in a wheel chair and the big sister is furious that they are there. She made it known to all that nothing is wrong with him. So now it is time to check on and I go up and tell them I literally think the lady behind me is dying. So they excuse me and take this lady. All the while I help her up and get her to the chair. I take the diapers and the bottle out of her hands and play with her daughter for the next 15 minutes. The beg to call an ambulance but the lady is waiting for her husband (whom I never saw arrive) she comes back and we go up. In that time a few more people come in.  A baby, A cranky old man, And a mother with there 5 yr old son. I check Tyler in, mean while Tyler just saying lets go home. So back to the big sister that is furious to be there. I am sitting by the window and I look at her and said it is your little brother in the wheelchair? She said yes. Then proceeded to tell me the story that they were messing around on a roll cart and he twisted his foot….I told her well I am sure he is just fine. As I said that I was watching him play in the wheelchair in the hallway. Mom obviously saw as well and they were out of there! Then Cranky old man…….UFDAH…….he was cranky. It was emergency after emergency. The poor ladies upfront took a lot form these people and had no one had mercy for them. I felt bad. We were called back shortly there after and the Dr. was wonderful and Tyler had a sinus infection. He gave us antibiotics and allergy meds and sent us on our way!!! All the while 20 people in the waiting room. 2 ambulances later and who knows what else came there way! WHEW!!!!!
