EGR
Well It’s done! Another first out of the way. I wonder how many firsts I will have in my lifetime? Well Tyler is off to camp and we had a wonderful day. We went to church this morning. I taught then we went to Worship time for 2nd service….Then just Tyler and I went to Red Robin for lunch. We had some special bonding time that we never get. We went back to church and picked up a new boy to take to camp. He is not from our or any church but plans to start. As we were driving I learned some new things. First off let me tell you this was an E.G.R. time for me for sure. Hmmmm wonder if that is why they put him with me and Tyler. Tyler being so easy going and me just calm…LOL I am sure that is not why at all but you know it sounded good!!! Angie taught me this term and I agree it is E.G.R. for sure……Extra Grace Required…….
So like I said before I learned a lil something on the ride there. As this boy was talking and they talked the ENTIRE trip as I sang in the front seat. Listening I heard him say something about church. Went something like his…. I was told there is only like and hour of church….Tyler said well maybe more than that….but he said something relevant to what’s the point…..church is boring. So I peeped in and said so why do you think church is boring and he said well all you do is stand in front of a bench and hold a book………my heart sank to be honest. Thinking to myself how can I reply, this is my moment to say something anything……I said Oh hunny you have it all wrong…..you are going to have so much fun…..you wait to see what it is like I said you dance you sing…its all about fun….We went on some more and I realized again that he did not understand what camp was he said something about having a test……I peeped in again and told him Camp is all about FUN, and Jesus!! I think by the time we got there he understood that it was all about fun. My prayer for him is simple…….May he be blessed this week. May his counselors have EGR this week. May the counselors be blessed by him. My big prayer is that he finds Jesus in all of this and most of all I pray he has FUN……and that he comes home wanting more!! AMEN
